Welcome to Reconcile Digest #26. I’m so glad you’re here! We are back after a (well-deserved) summer break, and excited to return to our schedule of sharing a new, visual research digest every week. If you are new here and joined over the summer, see here for more info about who we are and what Reconcile Journal is all about.
Burnout is a term we come across often. You might know it from everyday wellbeing discourse, or you might have lived experience of it, which is common for those working across academia, high-powered work environments and justice-rooted spaces (& beyond).

Either way, the research on this topic is rich, and this digest is driven by the desire to have more nuanced evidence-based discourse around burnout.
This particular paper positions the embodied experience of burnout as 'evidence', a lens not often explored. The focus is to highlight some of the complicated circumstances that give rise to it, and hopefully provide the language to address what can often feel like an individual failure.
This kind of topic really benefits from conversation. Email us back or leave a comment on our website at the bottom of the page with your thoughts. We would love to hear from you!
